Financial Compliance Manager
As Financial Compliance Manager, Darrell works closely with the hotels on their daily reports and ensures that the ledgers stay in balance. He also reconciles the hotel bank accounts on a weekly basis and strives for uniformity in invoice coding. Monthly he prepares the financial packets for all GHMI hotels. Annually he enters the budgets in M3 and prepares and distributes 1099’s as week as handling business tax and annual report filings. Darrell started in the hotel industry in his hometown of Morristown in 1987 when he was hired by the Ramada Inn as relief night auditor. Other positions held include front desk manager, Rooms Division Manager and bookkeeper. The hotel rebranded as Holiday Inn Conference Center in 2000 and he assumed the role of Assistant General Manager. During their 10 years with IHG the hotel earned five Torchbearer Awards. The hotel converted to Best Western Plus in 2010 and Darrell was named General Manager. In 2018 the hotel began a partnership with GHMI for accounting and payroll services. Darrell’s favorite saying is “perfect will be fine” and one of his former employees embroidered this and had it framed for him. It is on display in his office. While not working Darrell enjoys watching a variety of sports on TV and tends to his tropical fish aquarium.
